5th person arrested in connection with January homicide

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A fifth person was arrested in connection with a 19-year-old’s death that happened in January on Wildhorse Ranch Trail, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Court records identified that person as 35-year-old Tidis Tyrone Collier. He was booked into the Travis County Jail on a capital murder by terror threat charge. His bond was set at $250,000, according to online jail records.

Attorney information was not available for Collier as of Wednesday. KXAN will update this article if a statement is provided.

Austin police officers responded to a report of a shooting on Jan. 24 in the 10500 block of Wildhorse Ranch Trail, which is near Parmer Lane and U.S. 290.

The Austin Police Department said its investigation revealed Ekozeme and another victim had arrived at an apartment complex when the suspects began shooting into their car.

After being shot, Ekozeme tried to drive away, but he lost control of the vehicle due to his injuries. This resulted in Ekozeme’s car crashing into a fence and then going into a ditch, where he would then be found by officers, according to APD.

In addition to Collier’s arrest, police have arrested the following four other suspects connected to the shooting:

  • Bill Tarlue Nyanway
  • Robert Johnson
  • Emmanuel Thompson
  • Jose Rojas Jr.
