Radio Coffee opens new shop at old Try Hard location
AUSTIN (KXAN) — A popular Austin coffee shop is expanding its reach with a third location, which took over the storefront of another popular coffee spot that closed last spring.
Radio Coffee & Beer opened a new location on East 11th Street, at the site of what used to be Try Hard Coffee, according to posts on Radio’s Instagram.
Try Hard closed its doors at the end of April, attributing the closure to the amount of debt taken on to support the business. The shop first opened during the pandemic, its ownership said in a farewell post on Instagram.
Radio Coffee has been an Austin staple for the last decade — its original location, at 4204 Menchaca Rd., celebrated its 10th birthday in May. The company expanded to its second location a little over a year ago, opening “Radio East” at 3504 Montopolis Dr. in October 2023.
The new spot, “Radio Rosewood,” is holding its grand opening all day Wednesday.
