INDIANAPOLIS — One running joke at the NFL scouting combine is that there is a free agent bridge quarterback who checks enough boxes that the Giants could pursue him in hopes he turns into the next Sam Darnold.
He had a small taste of success.
He was just coached by a premier quarterback mentor.
He will sign a prove-it contract.
