AFD: 1 rescued after getting stuck in sewer pipe
AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person was rescued by Austin Fire Department crews after they were stuck in a sewer pipe under a building in central Austin, according to AFD.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m. AFD said on social media that crews responded to 4110 Guadalupe St. for the incident. Officials on the scene reported the person was about 100 feet inside the tunnel.
AFD crews used a rescue sled to pull the person out “using a rope system.” Around 5 p.m., the person was removed from the tunnel and was evaluated by crews on the scene.
No other details were available Monday.
