‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ Season 2 Trailer: Nicole Kidman’s Mad Masha Pushes Her Guests To The Brink In The Austrian Alps
Hulu has dropped the official trailer for Season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers, starring Nicole Kidman reprising her role as unhinged wellness guru Masha Dmitrichenko, who brings nine new strangers together in the Austrian Alps.
The trailer opens with a voiceover revealing that the nine were “chosen under bizarre circumstances for a healing retreat.”
In addition to Kidman, the new Season 2 cast includes Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Lucas Englander, King Princess, Murray Bartlett, Dolly de Leon, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Mark Strong and Aras Aydin.
Masha greets her guests for the first time in what appears to be a living room in a luxurious home, explaining,“I invited you all here because sometimes you shouldn’t deal with pain gently,” to which one guest, responds, “Wait, this is not a spa?”
“She’s going to bleach our brains, darling,” says Baranski’s character.
Taking the group back to their core memories, Masha continues,”This is a cleansing of the mind. To recharge, to rediscover inspiration.”
Per the official Season 2 logline: Nine new strangers connected in ways they could never imagine are invited by mysterious guru Masha Dmitrichenko (Kidman) to join a transformational wellness retreat in the Austrian Alps. Over the course of a week, she takes them to the brink. Will they make it? Will she? Masha is willing to try anything in the interest of healing everyone involved, including herself.
The show hails from David E. Kelley, Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories, Kidman’s Blossom Films, and Fifth Season, which handles distribution on the series as well. The series is executive produced by Kelley, Kidman, Per Saari, Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Molly Allen, Jonathan Levine, Rachel Shukert, Liane Moriarty, Matthew Tinker, Anthony Byrne and JH Butterworth.
The new season premieres on Hulu on May 21 with a two-episode launch. New episodes stream Wednesdays leading up to the season finale on July 2. Check out the trailer above.
