The real Rangers turnaround won’t come from Mike Sullivan

Surely Gerard Gallant had something better to do Thursday morning than to watch Mike Sullivan’s introductory press conference as coach of the Rangers.

Still, we can only hope someone relayed to Gallant these few sentences from Sullivan that echoed some of Gallant’s own last words in the same job.

“As we all know, talent alone doesn’t win championships,” Sullivan said. “Teams win championships. I think that’s going to be our challenge from Day 1, is to become a team in the true sense of the word.”

If Gallant heard that, he must have chuckled.
