APD seeking public help finding suspect vehicle in northeast Austin hit-and-run

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department is seeking public help to identify a suspect wanted in connection with a hit-and-run that happened in northeast Austin last week, per a news release from the agency.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on May 8 around 1 p.m. in the 12300 block of Interstate 35 northbound, which is near Tech Ridge Boulevard.

According to police, one of the vehicles involved did not stop to call 911 or render aid. Instead, they left the scene “immediately after the crash.” APD described the suspect vehicle only as “red in color.”

If anyone has any information on this crash, they can submit an anonymous tip via the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program website or by calling 512-472-8477.
