APD involved in south Austin shooting, incident under investigation
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said it was investigating a south Austin shooting that involved officers Saturday.
According to APD, the shooting occurred in the 1700 block of West William Cannon Drive.
APD provided preliminary information regarding the shooting.
The department said calls came in shortly before 10 a.m. regarding a person in a wheelchair blocking traffic. One caller also reported that the person pointed a gun at them.
According to police, one person was shot and taken to the hospital, but no officers were injured as a result of the shooting.
APD said it was working to get the details of what led to the shooting.
