Scottie Scheffler used his ‘greatest gift’ to deliver cathartic PGA Championship moment for his camp

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Scottie Scheffler wasn’t the only one putting himself through an emotional scrambler en route to capturing the PGA Championship Sunday at Quail Hollow.

His dad, Scott, couldn’t bear to watch anymore, so he went inside the clubhouse to get an ice cream to calm his nerves.

His coach, Randy Smith, felt as helpless as Scheffler’s dad watching from outside the ropes, but he never stopped believing, because he’s been coaching Scottie since he was a 7-year-old and knows what’s inside of his soul.

His caddie, Ted Scott, was inside the ropes and knew his man wasn’t right, so he calmly did what he could to make him right.
