Lanes of US-183 cleared after vehicle gets stuck under commercial truck

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Several lanes on U.S. 183 in northwest Austin were blocked off Friday morning after a crash.

A KXAN viewer sent in a picture of the crash, which showed a vehicle underneath a commercial truck.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. on the highway near the Great Hills Trail exit.

TxDOT initially showed that four of the northbound lanes of travel were blocked. Those lanes were the shoulder and three main lanes. The lanes have since reopened.

The transportation department’s website also showed the crash was minor.

KXAN reached out to Austin-Travis County EMS, which said medics were initially called to the scene, but the call for service was later canceled. The Austin Fire Department later confirmed there were no injuries related to the crash.
