Olivia Rodrigo Brings Talking Heads’ David Byrne Onstage At Governors Ball

Olivia Rodrigo threw it back to the ’80s this weekend to jam out with a new wave legend.

During her Saturday performance at Governors Ball in New York City, the 3x Grammy winner was joined onstage by Talking Heads frontman David Byrne for a surprise performance of the band’s 1983 single ‘Burning Down the House’ for the crowd at Flushing Meadows—Corona Park.

The rocker matched Rodrigo’s red performance look in a pair of matching overalls as they playfully re-enacted the choreography to the song.

Byrne’s surprise appearance comes after the Talking Heads were introduced to a new generation of fans with A24‘s 40th anniversary re-release of their 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense, which grossed more than $5 million domestically after a limited run in 2023.
