TxDOT: All lanes open after crash on I-35 near Tech Ridge



AUSTIN (KXAN) — All lanes are back open after a crash on Interstate 35 in northeast Austin that happened earlier on Thursday, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The Austin Fire Department said on social media it responded to a report of a vehicle rescue in the 12000 block of North I-35 around 4 p.m., which is near Tech Ridge Boulevard. Austin-Travis County EMS medics said on social media the crash was between a truck and a sedan.

Both AFD and Austin-Travis County EMS said that one person was pinned and rescued from a vehicle involved in the crash.

Shortly before 4:45 p.m., ATCEMS medics said they took an adult to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center with “serious not life threatening injuries.”

TxDOT said on social media shortly before 5 p.m. that all southbound lanes on I-35 were closed, as well as the left lane of the northbound side.

Then, shortly before 6 p.m., TxDOT said on social media that all lanes were open.
