Scoring for Mexico in the win over the Dominican Republic were Edson Alvarez, Raul Jimenez, and Cesar Montes. In their win over Suriname, Mexico was led by Cesar Montes, who bagged a brace, scoring goals in the 57th and 63rd minutes of action.

Tonight, however, Mexico actually faces a huge test, as Costa Rica is one of the better teams in CONCACAF, one that boasts six points through two group-stage matches. Costa Rica opened its 2025 Gold Cup campaign with a 4-3 win over Suriname, with goals scored by Alonso Martinez, Manfred Ugalde, and Josimar Alcocer. Then, Costa Rica defeated the Dominican Republic 2-1 with goals scored by Ugalde and Alcocer.
