Woman dies after being hit by vehicle on Hancock Drive

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said Claudia Gale Porter died on Friday after she was hit by a vehicle in the 2800 block of Hancock Drive. 

The department said at 7:45 a.m., officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian. Police said Porter was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. 

APD said the driver remained on scene, was not impaired and cooperated with the investigation. 

This crash marks Austin’s 46th deadly crash so far in 2025, resulting in 50 deaths.
