Leonie Fiebich’s absence proving costly for Liberty: ‘Please come back’

SAN FRANCISCO — Liberty center Nyara Sabally reached for her phone and fired off a tongue-in-cheek text to Leonie Fiebich last week. 

“Please come back.” 

Of course, the Liberty are in full support of Fiebich’s pursuit to win a medal for her native Germany at EuroBasket. 

But Sabally’s three-word text is a sentiment shared by the team, especially considering New York is without at least another starter, Jonquel Jones, for the foreseeable future.
