Rebecca Glashow Named CEO Of Tribeca Enterprises As Jane Rosenthal Segues To Co-Chair Alongside James Murdoch

Rebecca Glashow has been named chief executive of Tribeca Enterprises, the New York multi-platform media and entertainment company that owns and operates the Tribeca Festival, Tribeca Studios and distribution label Tribeca Films.

Longtime CEO Jane Rosenthal, who founded the company with Robert De Niro, will assume the role of co-chair of the board alongside chairman James Murdoch, overseeing the Tribeca Festival into its landmark 25th anniversary in 2026 and remaining a key advisor to the Tribeca brand. Murdoch’s Lupa Systems acquired a controlling stake in Tribeca in 2019.

Glashow will join the company Dec. 1, reporting to Rosenthal.

She wast most recently CEO of BBC Global Media & Streaming, overseeing global distribution, content investment, streaming services, global channels and digital news service BBC.com. Accomplishments under her watch include the acquisition of ITV’s 50% stake in BritBox International and the investment and launch of a new international digital and product strategy for BBC’s global journalism across BBC.com and the BBC app. She expanded its DTC services including BBC Select (ad-free documentary streaming) in North America, and BBC Podcasts Premium, now available in more than 160 countries.

She was previously head of BBC Studios Americas and before that co-head of Awesomeness, a youth-skewing, digitally oriented content supplier acquired by Viacom in 2018. Prior to that, she had a long run at Discovery, rising to SVP of Digital Distribution & Partnerships. She served as Executive Producer on Trinkets (Netflix), which won a 2021 Daytime Emmy for Best Young Adult Series. Other credits include EP for To All the Boys: PS I love you and Always and Forever.

“Bob and I are so pleased that Rebecca is joining Tribeca as the new CEO in the next phase of our growth. She brings enormous commercial strength and a talent for thinking outside the box. Next year marks a major milestone for us as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Tribeca Festival. It’s a synchronistic moment to welcome a changemaker like Rebecca and I am excited to partner with her as we look ahead to Tribeca’s continued evolution and the next chapter of our story,” said Rosenthal.

Said Glashow: “I am honored to step into this role for such a venerable event and platform that showcases creative voices and innovative storytelling in our vibrant and beloved NYC. I have long admired Jane, Bob and the undeniable impact Tribeca has made across film, television, immersive and gaming over the years. I am eager to contribute to Tribeca’s legacy, while shaping and growing our global community.
