US: Wall Street opens higher as cool inflation data fuels Fed rate cut bets


WALL Street opened on solid ground on Friday (Oct 24), as investors welcomed a cooler-than-expected inflation reading, while Intel’s upbeat results offered a boost.

At 9.30 am EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 221.66 points, or 0.47 per cent, to 46,956.27. The S&P 500 gained 43.88 points, or 0.66 per cent, to 6,782.32, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 200.07 points, or 0.87 per cent, to 23,141.87. REUTERS
