Lucky dog ‘remarkably unscathed’ after falling 100 feet down Scottish cliff

He got a new leash on life.

A lucky dog was “remarkably unscathed” after plunging nearly 100 feet down a cliff on a Scottish island, according to authorities.

The 2-year-old collie named Whisp fell from a rocky ledge of a cliff near Heylor in Shetland on Thursday, HM Coastguard posted on Facebook.

Coastguards rushed to rescue him around 11:10 a.m. and used rope equipment to hoist the fallen Fido back up over 98 feet to safety, authorities said.

Due to the terrain, Whisp could not be rescued from below on the seaside of the cliffs, officials added.

The black-and-white pooch was brought back to the top of the cliff roughly three hours later.

Whisp was “safe and well” and “remarkably unscathed” despite the harrowing fall, the coast guard said in a statement.

Pictures showed the happy-go-lucky pup posing with his rescuers and looking overjoyed to be reunited with his owner.
