Tig Notaro Teases “Hot Lesbian Action” Project In Development With Zack Snyder
After becoming an accidental sex symbol for fans of all genders and sexual orientations in Army of the Dead (2021), Tig Notaro is ready to cash in on some of that rizz.
The comedian recently revealed that she and the Netflix movie’s director Zack Snyder have been working on a “hot lesbian action” project, with the working title Deviants, which Snyder’s camp confirms is in development.
“I go viral for being sexy in this film,” she explained on the On with Kara Swisher podcast. “And it was so unexpected. My phone’s exploding. I’m not walking around going ‘Oh my God,’ you know, ‘check me out.’ I was so confused. So I called Zack, and I said, ‘I’m hearing it from straight men, gay men, gay women and straight women that they think I’m hot in this movie.’”
Notaro signed on to play helicopter pilot Marianne Peters in Army of the Dead back in 2020, stepping in for Chris D’Elia, who was cut from the film amid sexual misconduct allegations.
For Notaro, D’Elia’s loss was her gain, as she slipped seamlessly into the role, prompting her and Snyder to come up with another project.
“‘What if we just went for it and everyone’s a hot lesbian?’ He was like, ‘Oh my God, yes, let’s make that movie,’” she recalled. “And so who knows? It’s a Hollywood project. We’re in the process of putting the script together. Picture this poster: We have the name of the film, and then it says ‘Hot Lesbian Action.’ That’s how I sold him on the Zoom.”
Notaro noted, “As of now, the movie is called Deviants, and takes place back in some old-timey days, like some closeted deviants.”
Notaro is repped by UTA. Snyder is repped by CAA, Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern and ID.
