Gina Carano strips down to show off 100 pound weight loss ahead of Netflix fight against Ronda Rousey
Gina Carano is showing just how much she sacrificed to make her long-awaited return to the cage.
Ahead of her highly anticipated Netflix fight against Ronda Rousey, the former MMA star stripped down in a post on X to reveal the dramatic physical transformation that helped get her back into fighting shape.
And the number attached to that transformation is staggering: 100 pounds.
Carano shared the post shortly after successfully weighing in at 141.4 pounds on Friday for Saturday night’s main event, which will headline Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions card at Intuit Dome.
“I just weighed in at 141.4 [pounds]. Since Sept. 2024 to today, May 15, 2026, I have lost 100 [pounds]. It hurts to say that and share but I am going to share it because I worked so damn hard every week for over a year and a half to shed this weight,” Carano wrote. “It did not happen overnight. If it wasn’t for having this incredibly challenging goal in fighting Ronda Rousey I most definitely wouldn’t have reached this.”
The post offered a candid look at just how far Carano had to come to make this fight a reality.
According to Carano, she was prediabetic and struggling with basic mobility less than two years ago.
“I was prediabetic, had trouble simply walking in September and have been on the path to recovery to turn myself back into an athlete since then. It was hard, SO damn hard … there was so much to learn, too much to unpack here, ups, downs, plateaus, things I learned late I wish I learned earlier, trial by error but I did it.”
That’s one way to make a comeback.
Carano also thanked Rousey, “who waited patiently” while she worked her way back to fighting form.
The 44-year-old has not competed in MMA since 2009, making Saturday’s bout her first appearance in the sport in nearly two decades. Rousey, now 39, last fought in 2016 and weighed in at 142 pounds for the 145-pound featherweight contest.
While the event also features names like Nate Diaz, Mike Perry, Francis Ngannou, and Junior dos Santos, Carano’s remarkable 100-pound transformation has already delivered one of the weekend’s most jaw-dropping moments.
Before she even throws a punch, Carano has already pulled off a comeback worth talking about.
