Joanna Klein Joins Nina Tassler’s Kismet Creative Group As SVP
EXCLUSIVE: Former CBS Entertainment Chairman Nina Tassler has recruited another veteran TV executive-turned-producer, Joanna Klein, for her Kismet Creative Group. Klein has joined Kismet, which is under an overall deal at Sony Pictures Television Studios, as Senior Vice President.

Klein most recently was partnered with Jennie Snyder Urman at Urman’s CBS Studios-based Sutton St. Productions for seven years. Through that partnership, Klein executive produced Urman’s hit CBS drama series Matlock, which is headed into Season 3, as well as Good Sam for CBS and limited series Flowers In The Attic for Lifetime.
Previously, Klein was SVP of Scripted Series at Lifetime Television where she oversaw such series as UnReal and You. Prior to that, she was SVP of Scripted Series at The CW where she developed such series as Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Jane The Virgin, The Flash, Arrow, Crazy Ex Girlfriend and Riverdale.
Klein’s resume also includes stints at Regency TV, Lionsgate and Walt Disney Television.
