‘Ghostbusters’ Animated Netflix Series Reveals Title, Logo Art

Who you gonna call? Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation have revealed the official title and logo for their upcoming Ghostbusters series.

Celebrating Ghostbusters Day on Saturday, marking the anniversary of the original 1984 film’s release, showrunners Ben Hibon and Elliott Kalan were joined by Ghost Corps executive producers Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan to announce Ghostbusters: Night Shift as name of the upcoming series, set to premiere on Netflix in 2027.

Amid the success of Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989), the animated series The Real Ghostbusters ran from 1986-’91 on ABC and in syndication, followed by the sequel series Extreme Ghostbusters in 1997.

Taking place at the FDNY’s Hook & Ladder 8 firehouse, where the first two movies were filmed, Reitman and Kenan also recognized the fans for surpassing their ‘Ghostbusters Give Back’ initiative’s $500,000 donation goal over the past year, presenting the ‘Golden Trap’ awards to the Ghostbusters chapters in Buffalo, Los Angeles and Virginia, for raising the most money.

Additionally, Reitman, Kenan and Jay Levine, EVP, Chief Strategy Officer & Business Operations of Sony Pictures presented a $150,000 match donation check on behalf of Sony to Starlight Children’s Foundation, for a grand total of $666,000.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire star Celeste O’Connor also visted Maimonides Children’s Hospital in Brooklyn with Starlight, delivering hospital gowns and toys to pediatric patients.

Meanwhile, the Buffalo Ghostbusters hosted a special presentation and live auction benefitting the FDNY Foundation, for which the Ghostbusters in Concert National Fall Tour also teamed up with Black Ink to donate a portion of ticket sales.
