APD: 66-year-old woman dies following 3-vehicle crash in southeast Austin



AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 66-year-old woman died after a three-vehicle crash in southeast Austin Wednesday night, according to the Austin Police Department.

APD officers responded around 9 p.m. to a crash at E. Ben White Boulevard and E. Riverside Drive. Two sedans and a pickup truck were involved in the crash, per an APD press release.

First responders took the driver and a passenger of one of the sedans to a local hospital. APD identified that driver as Lisa Gail Cooper, who was later pronounced dead.

Others who were in the crash either took minor injuries or were uninjured, the release said.

This is now being investigated as Austin’s 38th fatal crash of 2025, according to police.

No other details were available Thursday.
