AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department identified the man who was found at a gas station in southeast Austin and later died on Sunday as Keaton Delcore, 29.

Around 12:29 a.m., police and Austin-Travis County EMS responded to a call that a victim was “bleeding on the ground” at the Apple Mart gas station at 2101 Wickersham Lane.

When officers arrived at the gas station, they found Delcore with trauma to his neck, according to police. Medics performed life-saving measures and the victim was taken to a hospital. But Delcore was pronounced dead at 1 a.m., said APD.

Police said that Delcore approached an unidentified man and interacted with him in the parking lot before he was shot. The suspect then left the scene, APD said.
