'Cat Tree' hotel project proposed in San Marcos

Midway Development Group LLC on July 1 will be considered by the San Marcos City Council for $9.1 million in incentives for what’s being called “Project Cat Tree,” an apparent reference to Texas State’s bobcat mascot. The minimum 130-key, full-service hotel would have an event lawn and amphitheater, restaurant, bar and meeting and event space, according to planning documents.
