CNBC Hires David Cho As Editor In Chief
CNBC has hired David Cho to serve as editor in chief, a position in which he will oversee editorial coverage across cable, digital and direct to consumer platforms.
Cho has been the editor-in-chief of Barron’s and head of editorial content for Dow Jones Wealth and Investing. The latter includes publications such as MarketWatch, Investor’s Business Daily and Financial News London.
Cho will start on Aug. 11.
KC Sullivan, the president of CNBC, said in a statement, “David’s appointment as Editor-in-Chief marks an important evolution for CNBC as we unify editorial efforts across every platform. With his deep expertise in business journalism and a strong track record as a strategic leader, David is uniquely positioned to guide our newsroom into the future.”
His hiring comes as CNBC prepares to be spun off from Comcast, into a new entity, Versant, that will include other cable channels including MSNBC.
Cho previously was business editor of The Washington Post, and also worked at The Star-Ledger, The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Korea Herald.
