AUSTIN (KXAN) — A person was found dead on the University of Texas at Austin campus Monday afternoon, according to first responders. Police said the death is not suspicious.

At about 12:49 p.m., the University of Texas Police Department said it got a call about a possible deceased person near 21st Street and San Jacinto Boulevard. That area is across from Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium.

Austin-Travis County EMS said the person, who was an adult, was submerged in a creek and pronounced dead at the scene.

UTPD said the Austin Police Department also responded to the scene.

“There is no threat to the public,” UTPD wrote on social media, adding at this time, the death is non-suspicious.
