Donald Trump Says Andrea Bocelli Will Perform At White House In December

Andrea Bocelli will perform at the White House on Dec. 5, President Trump told reporters following the Italian tenor’s visit to the Oval Office.

The White House on Friday posted video of Bocelli singing Con Te Partiro as music was played inside and outside the Oval Office. It also played during Bocelli’s Oval Office meeting.

Bocelli is scheduled to perform at the Capital One Arena on Dec. 14.

Bocelli’s appearance will take place two days before the Kennedy Center Honors, which will be different this year, with Trump himself hosting and playing a major role in selecting the awardees. They are Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Gaynor, KISS, Michael Crawford and George Strait.

During Trump’s first term, the PBS series In Performance at the White House, which featured performances from top entertainers in the East Room, was sidelined. It returned for one episode during Joe Biden’s term. Last summer, the president led an effort to secure congressional passage of legislation that rescinded all federal funding for public media, including stations, PBS and NPR.
