HUTTO, Texas (KXAN)– An 18-year-old was arrested and taken to Williamson County Jail after he was accused of shooting a juvenile at a party overnight, the Hutto Police Department posted on social media.

Around 12:24 a.m., Hutto Police officers were called for a noise complaint at a large party in the 200 block of Phillips Street in the Hutto Parke subdivision. While officers were en route to the scene, the Williamson County Emergency Services updated the call to shots fired, said the post.

According to the post, 911 callers reported people were “shooting, running and driving away from the area.”

When officers arrived at the scene they found a male juvenile with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his arm. Police said he was transported by EMS to a local hospital.

Hutto Police said at least one vehicle and one residence were struck with a bullet during the incident. No other injuries were reported, the post stated.

Police arrested an 18-year-old male who was not a Hutto resident. Police did not release his identity, nor information about charges against him. The HPD post said he was unlawfully carrying a weapon on scene.

HPD believes this was an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the public. According to the post, police will not release other information in this case unless another person is taken into custody.
