Kate Middleton Re-Wore Her Wedding Earrings, a Possible Nod to Her and Prince William’s Anniversary

Perhaps the most touching detail about the princess’s garden party look was her earrings. She was wearing the same diamond drop earrings that she wore on her wedding to Prince William in 2011. Per InStyle, the earrings were a gift from her mother, Carole Middleton, and designed to resemble the Middleton coat of arms, with oak leaves and acorns.

The Princess of Wales often uses her style, and especially her jewelry, to send hidden messages or pay tribute to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana or grandmother-in-law Queen Elizabeth II. And this goes double for particularly meaningful events. One perfect example would be the jewelry she wore for her coronation in 2023. To honor the late queen, Kate wore the three-stranded George VI Festoon diamond necklace originally given as a gift to Elizabeth from her father, King George VI. For Princess Diana, Princess Kate wore her favorite pearl-and-diamond earrings, which she wore again on her first major appearance since finishing chemotherapy.

A garden party seems like the perfect occasion to add a little romance to one’s outfit with special, wedding day earrings.
