Katï Coffee backs women in STEM, first responders
GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — A roastery in Georgetown, Katï Coffee, is not only keeping residents caffeinated but also giving back to the community.
Founded by Mirian Diop, a former chemical engineer, Katï is dedicated to supporting women in STEM and local first responders through its business operations.
“We have a scholarship fund with Southwestern University for women in the STEM areas,” said Diop.
She transitioned from a career in chemical engineering to start the roastery after recognizing a need and wanting to make a positive impact.
The roastery also collaborates with local first responders, including the Pflugerville Fire Department, by donating a portion of sales to the Pflugerville Firefighters Foundation.
All of the coffee is roasted to order, and customers can purchase online or visit the roastery to experience the process firsthand.
Visit the roastery’s website for more information or to place an order.
