NAACP Image Awards Winners List (Updating Live)
The 57th NAACP Image Awards ceremony is underway Saturday night, the culmination of a weeklong stretch of events and awards-giving celebrating Black excellence and achievement across film, TV, books, music and more.
Tonight’s event at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium is being emceed by Deon Cole and is airing live on BET and CBS. Along with revealing winners in the remainder of the group’s 93 categories, the Image Awards are also honoring among others Viola Davis with the Chairman’s Award, Colman Domingo with the President’s Award), and inducting Salt-N-Pepa and DJ Spinderella into the awards show’s hall of fame.
Presenters expected for tonight’s show include Chase Infiniti, Delroy Lindo, NAACP president and CEO Derrick Johnson and chairman Leon W. Russell, Halle Bailey, Janelle James, Miles Caton, Nicole Beharie, Regé-Jean Page, Regina Hall, Ryan Coogler, Ryan Michelle Bathé, Sterling K. Brown and the cast of Tyler Perry’s Sistas.
This year, Warner Bros’ Oscar nomination record-setter Sinners leads all Image Awards nominees with 18, and already this week it has won nine trophies including for Coogler (Directing and Writing), supporting actors Lindo and Wunmi Mosaku, and its cinematography and music.
Kendrick Lamar and Teyana Taylor have the most individual noms (six apiece), and both have already scored wins during the pre-ceremony events. Other individual or projects with multiple wins coming into tonight include Cardi B, Don Lemon, Michelle Obama, Tyler Perry’s Straw and Abbott Elementary. Lamar and Taylor are also both up for the marquee Entertainer of the Year prize tonight, joined in that category by Sinners star Michael B. Jordan, Cynthia Erivo and Doechii.
