NWS: Two tornadoes confirmed in Burnet Thursday



AUSTIN (KXAN) — The National Weather Service survey team has concluded two tornadoes occurred in Central Texas on Thursday afternoon.

In far northeast Burnet County, a tornado formed just west of County Road 223.

Along the tornado path, significant damage was reported, including trees snapped, and damage to property.

Based on the damage surveyed, the peak winds of the tornado was estimated to be up to 110 mph (EF-1).

A second tornado formed just northwest of Briggs. This tornado occurred in an area that was not accessible to the National Weather Service.

Therefore, this tornado was rated EFU, also known as “unknown.”
