‘One Of Them Days’ Director Lawrence Lamont Signs With WME
EXCLUSIVE: Detroit-born director and writer Lawrence Lamont has signed with WME for representation in all areas.
His feature film One of Them Days for TriStar Pictures, starring Keke Palmer and SZA, debuted at #1 at the box office over MLK weekend and received widespread critical acclaim. The film was also the most viewed on Netflix, hitting #1 for consecutive weeks. It was a NY Times Critics Pick in its opening weekend and is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 94% critics score and 90% audience score.
The R-rated comedy movie follows best friends and roommates Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA), who are about to have one of those days. When they discover Alyssa’s boyfriend (Joshua David Neal) has blown their rent money, the duo finds themselves going to extremes in a comical race against the clock to avoid eviction and keep their friendship intact.
Lamont first gained recognition directing music videos such as “I Don’t F With You,” “Twenty88,” and “On Up” for Grammy-winning artist Big Sean, a longtime collaborator. He has since become a rising talent in film and television. He was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award for Best Hip-Hop Video for Big Sean’s “I Don’t F With You” and has also collaborated with artists Jhene Aiko and J Cole.
On the TV front, Lamont directed multiple episodes of HBO Max’s Rap Sh!t for Seasons 1 and 2, produced by HOORAE Productions, and completed a pilot for the platform. He also directed the Detroit Pistons’ 2022-23 branding campaign.
In the commercial space, Lamont has worked on campaigns for major brands such as Beats by Dre, Nike, Shipt, and the NFL.
