Police investigating vandalism incidents at Austin mosques
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department is investigating several vandalism incidents at mosques across the city.
In a statement Friday evening, the department said it was closely monitoring the affected mosques and others around the city through directed patrols.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations told KXAN that three mosques in Austin were affected.
“We all belong in this community. APD remains unwavering in its commitment to fostering a secure and inclusive Austin community,” APD said in its release. “Our ongoing efforts aim to ensure a community where every member feels safe, valued, and respected.”
