Prime Video Germany Unveils Stacked Slate Featuring ‘Perfectly Missed’ Sequel Series & Denis Gansel Films
Prime Video Germany has unveiled a major 2025/26 slate at an event at the Balloni Halls in Cologne today.
Set against the backdrop of a mass evacuation of parts of the city following the discovery of unexploded World War II bombs, the Prime Video Presents event revealed a new project with comic actors Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka, a remake of adventure reality show The Summit, which we revealed earlier this hour, and Season 7 of LOL: Last One Laughing Germany among its highlights.
A new film from Denis Gansel, The Prototype (working title) was unveiled, and, as we’ve just reported, the premiere date for Maxton Hall – The World Between Us Season 2 was also revealed to be November 7. Several other films and shows were greenlit – read on for full details.
Prime Video provided insights into the quiz game format Yes or No Games with Steven Gätjen, the Dinner For One prequel series Miss Sophie – Same Procedure As Every Year, and the murder mystery comedy Fabian and The Murderous Wedding (Fabian und Die Mörderische Hochzeit), also from Pastewka. More details were released in movies such as Der Tiger.
“This year, Prime Video has positioned itself even more broadly to offer our Prime members a comprehensive entertainment experience,” said Christoph Schneider, Country Director and Managing Director Prime Video Germany and Austria at the event.
He also touted Prime Video’s local sport line-up, which includes the UEFA Champions League, The Championships, Wimbledon and the NBA from October, along with live TV channel Prime, which “bridges the gap to linear television.”
From the new slate, Perfekt Zusammen (working title), sees Engelke and Pastewka playing perfect couple Maria and Ralf, who were first seen in on Prime Video’s Perfectly Missed (Perfekt Verpasst).
Synopsis reads: “After many missed moments, now come many moments together… Maria and Ralf have finally found each other, but life and everyday routines put their new happiness to numerous tests – including unexpected, bizarre, and breathtaking situations.”
The show comes from production by btf (bildundtonfabrik), whose co-founder Philipp Käßbohrer was handed the Deadline German TV Disruptor award today at Seriencamp for his work on How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast) for Netflix.
Executive producers are Matthias Murmann, Käßbohrer, Yannick Moll, Engelke and Pastewka. Erik Haffner directs and head writers of the series are Sebastian Colley and Claudius Pläging, with additional episodes written by Sintje Rosema and Lena Krumkamp.
The Game of Keys (WT) is a drama based on Mexican original El Juego de las Llaves, set to drop in the second half of 2026. It comes from Maxton producer UFA Fiction is exec produced by Ulrike Leibfried and Sinah Swyter. Head writers are Vivien Hoppe and Antonia Rothe-Liermann, with season writers being Marlene Melchior and Ben Brooks. Barbara Kronenberg and Sinje Köhler direct. This one is about a chance encounter between two former school friends, which triggers the beginning of the key game, where four couples swap their partners.
Documentaries come in the shape of Constantin Entertainment’s Loredana & Karim – about the lives of musician Loredana and football star Karim Adeyimii; and Downhill Skiers-Im Rausch der Geschwindigkeit (working title) from Blue Bird Motion Picture and Ascot Elite Entertainment.
From the film side, Der Tiger got a first-look image ahead of a launch this fall. Set on the Eastern Front of World War II in 1943, it follows a five-man crew of a German Tiger tank, which is sent on a secret mission far behind the heavily contested front line. The anti-war film is a Pantaleon Films production in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video, directed by Dennis Gansel. David Schütter, Laurence Rupp, Leonard Kunz, Sebastian Urzendowsky and Yoran Leicher play the leads.
Gansel is also behind The Prototype (WT), which is expected to be released on Prime Video in 2026. The film is from Neusuper in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, with Simon Amberger, Korbinian Dufter, Rafael Parente, Tore Schmidt, Gunter Hanfgarn, Andrea Ufer and Angelina Maron serving as producers.
Gansel directs, with the screenplay by Teevan, Bernd Heiber, and Peter Kocyla. Sebastian Krawinkel is responsible for production design, while Frank Kaminski is in charge of VFX. In the film, a car thief is tasked with stealing the most advanced car ever built. But when its secret AI awakens, the question arises: who is actually stealing whom?
Another new feature, Drive – The Pretenders (working title), is based on the Wattpad novella Drive by Tamara Lush. The Bavaria Fiction film, will be directed by Sergej Moya. Meanwhile, the Elevator Boys movie now has a name – Back to the 90s (working title).
The prequel series to cult sketch 18-minute Dinner For One will be named Miss Sophie – Same Procedure As Every Year, and will launch in the winter. The murder mystery, premieres at the Munich Film Festival on June 29. UFA Fiction is producing.
A second Prime Video project with Pastewka will officially be titled Fabian und Die Mörderische Hochzeit (Die Brautentführung). The murder mystery comedy was previously known under the working title Die Brautentführung. The film, another UFA Fiction production, will launch on Prime Video this winter.
Stromberg – Der neue Film, meanwhile, is the latest in a franchise that began on ProSieben nearly 20 years ago. It sees Christoph Maria Herbst stepping back into the lead role as a sharp-tongued, politically incorrect office boss, with Bjarne Mädel, Oliver Wnuk, Milena Dreissig and Diana Staehly also starring. A theatrical release is planned for December 4, distributed by Filmwelt. After that, it will be available on Prime Video and subsequently broadcast on ProSieben. MadeFor Film is producing in collaboration with Prime Video, SevenPictures, and Banijay Media Germany, whose subsidiary, Brainpool TV, owns rights to the Stromberg brand.
Another returning brand is crime drama Der letzte Bulle, which will be get more episodes in the fourth quarter of 2025 following the launch of eight new ones this past spring. The episodes will first play on Prine Video before getting free TV premieres on SAT.1 a month later and will be added to ProSiebenSat.1 Media’s streamer, Joyn, after the broadcast. Glisk is production in collaboration with ProSiebenSat.1.
Elsewhere, there is a second season of Krass Klassenfahrt – Die neue Generation, a seventh of LOL: Last One Laughing, a third season of reality show The 50 and a fifth of 7 vs Wild. doc film Downhill Skiers – Im Rausch der Geschwindigkeit (working title) has gone into production and ITV Studios Germany game show Yes or No Games is scheduled to start on Prime Video in the first quarter of 2026.
