Prince George is ringing in his latest birthday in a big way.
In honor of their eldest son turning 12, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton unveiled a striking new portrait of George, continuing a yearslong tradition of capturing their children’s major milestones.
In a post on their Instagram page July 22, the Prince and Princess of Wales—who are also parents to Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7—shared a photo of George with his arms folded as he rests on a fence. Alongside the pic, taken by photographer Josh Sinner, they wrote, “Happy 12th Birthday to Prince George!”
Last year, George, who is second in line to the British throne behind his father, struck a dapper pose as he smiled for the camera wearing a black suit jacket paired with a white collared shirt. He personalized the classic ensemble with a braided friendship bracelet—likely accrued when he attended Taylor Swift’s concert in London weeks prior—as seen in a larger version of the snap shared on his parents’ Instagram Stories at the time.
