'Sip & Shop': Austin content creator to host fundraiser for abuse survivors
AUSTIN (KXAN) — From lifestyle, DIY party planning hacks, to tech reviews and plugging all of the must-try food spots—the Austin Creator Club is coming together for something bigger than their individual brands and presence on social media.
It’s a club made up of various content creators and influencers. Raven Elyse, known for throwing elaborate parties and her DIY party hacks, is now hosting an event for the public.
At the “Sip and Shop” event Sunday, creators will be selling gently used items at the Mira Mira venue on East 6th Street from 12-4 p.m.
Elyse said 100% of the proceeds will go to the SAFE Alliance—a merger of Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace, helping survivors of child abuse, sexual assault and exploitation, and domestic violence.
“It’s a cause that is super near and dear to my heart,” Elyse said. “I’ve personally needed the SAFE Alliance before, and know people who do, so it’s something that I really want to support.”
The Austin Creator Club creators, combined, have tens of thousands of followers on Instagram alone, allowing them to reach more people for the cause.
“For the first time, I’m doing a public-facing event,” Elyse said. “I’ve been throwing a lot of extravagant parties for my friends and family, but one of the comments that I always get is, ‘Where is my invite? We want to come.'”
Elyse told KXAN’s Jala Washington on Saturday, over 100 tickets had already been sold for the event.
