Texas alters softball game time Friday due to forecasted bad weather

AUSTIN (KXAN)—The Texas Longhorns softball game on Friday at McCombs Field has been moved from 6 p.m. to 11 a.m. due to potential inclement weather, the program announced Thursday.

The No. 5 Longhorns (42-9, 13-8 SEC) open a 3-game Southeastern Conference series against Kentucky at 6 p.m. Thursday as originally scheduled. At least for now, Saturday’s game is still slated for the original time of 1 p.m.

Texas will honor six players in their final year of eligibility prior to Saturday’s game: Vanessa Quiroga, Joley Mitchell, Mia Scott, Katie Cimusz, Mac Morgan and Mia Scott.

It’s the last regular season series of the season with the SEC tournament beginning May 6 in Athens, Georgia. As of Thursday afternoon, Texas was No. 8 spot in the RPI, something that could matter when it comes to being a national seed and potentially hosting through the super regional round.
