‘The Pitt’ Casts Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard & Lucas Iverson For Season 2
EXCLUSIVE: HBO Max‘s The Pitt has added four to its recurring cast for Season 2, including Charles Baker (Breaking Bad, The Blacklist), Irene Choi (Insatiable, Truth Be Told), Laëtitia Hollard (Trauma, Or Monsters All) and Lucas Iverson (Shakespeare Theatre Co.’s Frankenstein).
Sources tell Deadline the names and brief descriptions of each character; however, these are always subject to change.
Baker will play Troy, an unhoused man forgotten by most, and a patient in the ED.
Choi will play Joy, a third-year medical student with strong boundaries and a vast knowledge of medicine that leans toward the macabre.
Hollard will play Emma, a recent nursing school graduate, who some may consider naive.
Iverson will play James, a fourth-year medical student.
From creator R. Scott Gemmill and producer John Wells, The Pitt chronicles the urgent challenges U.S. frontline healthcare professionals face through the lens of the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency department. Offering a real-time format, the series traces, hour-by-hour, the medical cases and personal crises physicians and nurses must navigate as they reckon with an overabundance of patients and a lack of resources.
The series is led by Noah Wyle, who also executive produces. The ensemble cast also includes Katherine LaNasa, Tracy Ifeachor, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Fiona Dourif, Supriya Ganesh, Shabana Azeez, Gerran Howell, and guest star Shawn Hatosy.
Season 1 of the series, a critical and audience darling, has already nabbed wins at the Gotham TV Awards and looks poised to be a major player in Emmy contention. The inaugural season is also set to air on TNT. Meanwhile, after revealing to Deadline that Season 2 will take place over Fourth of July weekend, Gemmill teased back in April that the sophomore installment would feature a time jump, new characters, and possible promotions for the cast that is set to return.
The medical drama is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television — where JWP is under an overall deal — created by R. Scott Gemmill, who also serves as executive producer alongside star/writer Noah Wyle, Wells, JWP’s Erin Jontow, Michael Hissrich, and Simran Baidwan.
Baker is repped by Greene Talent and The Green Room. Choi is represented by Realm Talent and Vault Entertainment. Hollard is represented by Mosaic. Iverson is repped by Strike up the Brand.
