‘The Young & The Restless’ Says Farewell To Allison Lanier As Summer Newman

Allison Lanier is out as Summer on The Young and the Restless.

The actress announced via X that May 2 is her final episode as the daughter of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

Lanier joined the CBS sudser in May of 2022 as a replacement for Hunter King. Lanier’s previous credits include a recurring role as Annabelle in the third season of Red Oaks, as well as the indie films Fish Bones and Mia.

Last year, Lanier earned her first Daytime Emmy nomination for playing Summer, a role that was first introduced in 2006. A series of young actors played the part, including Samantha Bailey and Lindsay Bushman before King took over.  

It’s unclear whether Lanier will be replaced.
