Two people were rescued on Sunday after their plane went down in the waters off Connecticut, according to a post on X, formerly Twitter, from the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Northeast.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in a statement on its website that it’s investigating the crash that occurred at 10:30 a.m. EST.
Both people in the plane were in stable condition, USCG Northeast’s post said. They were taken to a nearby pier in Stony Creek for medical treatment.
It’s unclear if they suffered any injuries.
The crash took place southeast of the Thimble Islands off the coast of Brandford, according to USCG.
According to the FAA, the plane was a Piper PA-32, which is a single engine aircraft.
