The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 34.2 points, or 0.08 per cent, at the open to 40,528.86.

The S&P 500 fell 12.7 points, or 0.23 per cent, at the open to 5,530.5, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 78.1 points, or 0.44 per cent, to 17,516.404 at the opening bell. REUTERS
