UTA Signs ‘Köln 75’ Filmmaker Ido Fluk
EXCLUSIVE: UTA has signed writer, director, and producer Ido Fluk for representation in all areas, with an eye toward helping him secure opportunities across film, television, and more.
Fluk is coming off the Berlin premiere of his latest film, Köln 75, which has gone on to receive nominations across four categories at the German Film Awards, including Best Picture. The film follows Vera Brandes, who, in 1975 and at the age of 18, staged the famous Köln Concert by jazz musician Keith Jarrett. It’s currently rolling out internationally and will be released theatrically in the U.S. by Zeitgeist Films in the fall.
Fluk is currently developing the bestselling 2013 novel Empty Mansions as a series for HBO, in collaboration with Fremantle’s Dante Di Loreto, Jeffrey Levine, and Joe Wright. A sought-after screenwriter, he’s also developing projects for Vendome (with Oren Moverman), The Story Collective, and Cosmopolitan Pictures out of the UK, as well as James Schamus and Joe Pirro’s Symbolic Exchange, and submarine thriller, Ivy Bells, with Michael Maher and Augenschein.
Fluk’s resume also includes the 2017 Tribeca Festival competition title The Ticket, a Dan Stevens starrer that he co-wrote and directed, as well as the 2011 Edinburgh Film Festival title Never Too Late, which went on to win the Regard D’or at the Friborg Film Festival. The multi-hyphenate will continue to be represented by Echo Lake Entertainment and attorney Robert Marcus.
