‘One Piece: The Battle Of Alabasta’ Adds Four To Season 3 Cast


Emilio Sakraya (Rheingold, Those About to Die, Fortitude), Omid Abtahi  (The Mandalorian, American Gods), Jamie Ward (The Gentlemen, His Dark Materials) and Nabeel Khan (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Strike Back) have been tapped for recurring roles in One Piece: The Battle of Alibasta, the third season of the Netflix series. The castings were announced Sunday during the One Piece Day stage show in Tokyo, Japan, and as production has wrapped in Cape Town, South Africa,.

Sakraya will play Koza, Abahi will portray Toto, Ward is Pell and Khan will play Chaka.

They join original Straw Hat crew, Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp) and Taz Skylar (Sanji), alongside Charithra Chandran (Miss Wednesday), Mikaela Hoover (Chopper), Joe Manganiello (Mr. 0), Lera Abova (Miss All Sunday) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Nefartari Cobra). Previously announced new cast members joining Season 3 include Cole Escola (Bon Clay), Xolo Maridueña (Portgas D. Ace), Daisy Head (Miss Doublefinger), and Awdo Awdo (Mr. 1).  

Additional cast will be announced at a later date.

In Season 3, after entering the treacherous Grand Line, war is coming for Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat crew in the desert kingdom of Alabasta, Princess Vivi’s homeland. A rebellion threatens to tear the nation apart, fueled in secret by one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, the ruthless Sir Crocodile, and his underground syndicate Baroque Works, who seek to conquer Alabasta for themselves. In a season defined by unbreakable bonds and impossible choices, the Straw Hats must face a brewing civil war and a powerful warlord to save Vivi’s kingdom before it crumbles into the sand.

Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes serve as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers. Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements executive produce through Tomorrow Studios, along with Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe and Steven Maeda.
