Bret Michaels Cancels 2026 Tour Dates After Recent Surgery
A month after undergoing kidney stone surgery, Bret Michaels is taking some time off from the road to recover.
On Saturday, the Poison frontman canceled the remainder of the 2026 stops on his Live & Amplified Tour, following his doctors’ orders to take “a much-needed period of rest and slow recovery” after the procedure.
“Following Bret Michaels’ comeback show at @thebowlatsugarhill, doctors and paramedics determined immediately after the show that he still needs additional rest and recovery from his recent surgeries,” read a statement on Michaels’ Instagram. “Bret will be taking the next several months off to heal and get back to 100%.
“Dr. Abby Borhan and Dr. Patel stated, ‘We will be pulling Bret off the road for the time being. He wanted to attempt this show, but we feel there is a much-needed period of rest and slow recovery ahead, especially considering the heat and humidity during the summer months and the effect it can have on his blood sugar levels.’”
The statement continued, “Our deepest apologies from Michaels Entertainment Group, as we were truly looking forward to the rest of this year’s shows, including @the_mountain_music_festival, private events and all the great shows coming up. We now look ahead and to Bret being able to return healthy, strong and ready to rock.”
Last month, Michaels announced that he underwent kidney stone surgery after it would not pass for seven days, during which he did multiple performances.
“But immediately, the next day following that show, I was admitted to the hospital, as the pain became too much when the stone would not pass,” explained Michaels on Facebook. “The operation has been done and is complete and I’m out of post-op recovery, and I’m doing everything within my power to feel better and continue playing great shows for great fans when I’ve got a complete clean bill of health.”
