Brett Goldstein’s ‘Escorted’ Ordered To Series, Prime Video Confirms

Prime Video has confirmed they’ve ordered Escorted, an eight-episode, half-hour single-camera romantic comedy from Brett Goldstein (Shrinking, Ted Lasso), to series. Deadline shared news of the pickup in November.

In Escorted, a divorced dad in Manhattan accidentally becomes a male escort in this romantic comedy about sexual dynamics, keeping secrets, and whether real intimacy can ever be bought.

Goldstein will star, executive, produce, write, and co-showrun via his overall deal with Warner Bros. Television, which produces the series. Brian Gallivan (Shrinking, Happy Endings) will serve as executive producer and co-showrunner. Josh Senior (The Bear) also executive produces alongside Molly Mandel.

“I’m so excited to bring a wholesome show about condoms, co-parenting, and cosplay to Amazon – the place where I actually buy my condoms, so it feels like a real full circle moment,” Goldstein said.

“Brett and Brian deliver a hilarious, modern take on relationships, grounded in a heartfelt story about a single dad navigating love, parenting, and life,” shared Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO, Warner Bros. Television Group and WBD US Networks.

“What makes Escorted so compelling is that beneath all of the chaos, comedy, and secrecy is an unexpectedly tender story about people searching for connection,” Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios, added. “Brett Goldstein and Brian Gallivan have crafted a series that feels daring, emotionally authentic, and entirely original, and we’re thrilled to bring it to Prime Video audiences worldwide.

Goldstein is gearing up for the release of the film Office Romance, a rom-com for Netflix, in which he stars and wrote, co-starring Jennifer Lopez. The title premieres on June 5. A new season of Apple TV’s Ted Lasso is also on the horizon, with a tentative placeholder set for an August premiere. On the series, he plays Roy Kent, as well as executive produces and writes. He also co-created, writes, executive produces, and stars in the Apple TV series Shrinking, which was renewed for a fourth season ahead of the show’s third season premiere. Goldstein is represented by WME, Mosaic, B-Sides, LARK, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.

Gallivan is represented by Entertainment 360.
