Disneyland employee shocks guests, plunges into Rivers of America in bizarre act
This Disneyland cast member apparently just needed a swim.
In a bizarre act caught on video, a Disneyland employee plunged into the Anaheim park’s Rivers of America shirtless and began swimming around Thursday.
A woman could be heard exclaiming as parkgoers stared in amazement at the man, who also wore long white pants.
The man was seen swimming for less than a minute in the water before he pulled himself on shore and over a fence separating the lake and Mickey-ear-wearing tourists.
The TikTok video, which was posted by “disney insider” pixiedustarchive on Thursday, has a caption that says: “threw in his keys and walkie right before he hopped in 😭. hopefully they’re alright /:.”
Park officials said that the cast member briefly entered the water before quickly making his way off-stage. Disneyland is looking into the incident, and no injuries have been reported.
The man who went for a swim has not been identified.
The swim is yet another bizarre incident at the Anaheim, California, park. A teen decided to take a swim at the park last month — but he took the opportunity while on a ride.
The 13-year-old was in a ride vehicle at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when it began to crest the top of the waterfall and go down. For some reason, he decided to climb out of the vehicle, and he fell down the water track to the base of the ride.
He survived but had to be hospitalized.
Disney employees are also reeling from mass layoffs.
The “Mouse House” announced several hundred layoffs Tuesday in its third round of cuts this year, affecting Disney Entertainment Television, ESPN, corporate divisions and Disney Studios, according to SFist.
“These changes are part of our continual evaluation of how we manage resources and reinvest across the company as our industry continues to evolve,” a Disney spokesperson told the outlet.
The latest cuts come despite “Toy Story 5” delivering a massive box office debut after hitting theaters June 19.
The California Post reached out to the video’s poster for comment.
