LaMelo Ball’s partner arrested on felony drug charges

Minnesota Timberwolves guard LaMelo Ball’s partner Ana Montana was arrested Monday on felony drug charges in North Carolina, according to booking records obtained by TMZ.

The model, whose real name is Analicia Chaves, is facing charges of two felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, as well as two misdemeanor counts of simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, dating back to Feb. 21.

Montana was held on a $20,000 bond in connection with the felony charges.

According to the arrest warrant, police said Montana obtained alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax, from Walgreens by filling prescriptions written using a doctor’s allegedly stolen DEA registration and medical provider ID.

Montana’s lawyer told TMZ: “To clarify, the charges allege that a doctor who used a fraudulent DEA registration and NPI number prescribed Alprazolam for Ms. Chaves, and that she used the prescription written by the doctor to obtain the prescribed Alprazolam at a pharmacy.

“The drug possession charges appear to allege that she possessed the aforementioned Alprazolam upon obtaining it from the pharmacy via the prescription written by the doctor.”

Montana’s warrant was issued Sept. 22, six days before her arrest.

She is a founder of a nonprofit organization called I Am Fertility — which supports, educate, and provides community for women navigating fertility, from endometriosis and PCOS to IVF, pregnancy and beyond.

Ball and Montana, who was previously open about her fertility journey, welcomed their first child, a son named LaOne, in January.

The pair have been linked since 2021.

Ball is entering his first season with the Timberwolves after being traded by Charlotte in June.

He was named an NBA All-Star, won the NBA Rookie of the Year award, and earned All-Rookie First Team selection during his six seasons with the Hornets.
