Sam Masaru Sekoff Dead: Entertainment 360 Manager Was 33

The Hollywood representation community has suffered a tragic loss. Sam Masaru Sekoff, a literary manager at Entertainment 360, passed away unexpectedly yesterday morning, July 14, on what was his 33rd birthday. He died in his Los Angeles home by apparent suicide.

Out of respect for Sekoff and to give his colleagues time to grieve, Entertainment 360 closed for the rest of the day Tuesday.

“We are all heartbroken by this news,” the company said in a statement. “Sam was an incredible man with a magnetic personality and an enduring dedication to his craft. He cared so much for his colleagues and his clients, always there with a warm smile and a kind word. He was a great person and to lose him so young is beyond devastating. Everyone at 360 sends our deepest condolences to his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.”

Born in Japan, Sekoff grew up in Florida and spent several years in foster care when his father died before moving to Los Angeles to attend USC. After graduating, he started his career in the mailroom at Gersh where he was made an agent in the television department in 2018 at the age of just 25. In 2021, Sekoff pivoted to management and joined Range Media Partners. He moved to Entertainment 360 in 2024.

As both an agent and a manager, Sekoff was focused on fostering and advocating for underrepresented and marginalized artists. Loved by his peers, he was featured on The Hollywood Reporter’s 35 under 35 NextGen list in 2023.

Sekoff is survived by his mother who lives in Japan.
